So, did this feature eventually get implemented in one of the patches? I didn't see anything in the patch notes. Is there now a hokey we can hold down to fire until the opponent is dead?


It's been in the game for ages now ;)
In Plan Mode, simply hold Shift and press your right mouse button(if my memory serves me correctly, haven't played JABIA in a while). You'll see a shooting icon on the action bar with an "omega" sign, meaning that it'll keep shooting until the target is dead.

Mercs with a high explosives stat will do this automatically (since some patch a couple of months ago).
The higher the stat, the faster it explodes. You don't have to do anything, apart from letting your explosives guy throw the grenades.
Sometimes it's good to let someone with a lower explosives stat throw them though. For example to flush the enemies out so you can pump them full of lead and give another merc some exp ;)

I'm at work now, won't be home for another few hours anyway ;)
Will CE be updated right away too, then?

Long answer: zero's mod M.E.R.C. is back adds the Crossfire mercs to the vanilla game. Combat Evolved mod includes zero's mod among other things, meaning it has the new mercs as well.


Ah thanks. I was reading these forums for the first time in months and saw the progress in mods, so I was going to try and install CE already.
Hope I can manage to change one of the standard mercs (Grizzly being my favourite) into myself by changing the name, stats and equipment in one of the config files. Managed it before, no need for some fancy tool ^^
