It's a trademark of this forum
I do not think, that the users of this forum are bad, i believe something other is causing the conflicts, something other really bad

of course we could, we share a common passion!
Also the constant complains about flamewars are greatly exaggerated. Any job you work on with the most minute level of stress in it will have 98% more serious and aggressive undertone than this. Any official you meet will be harsher than the people here. Any insurance sales-person will be more annoying than whoever you get to meet here. This thread is a good example, posters are calling this thread a flamewar, while in fact, Michael and i were disucssing the more advanced details of the forum's warning systems. Every conversation with your mother in law is tougher than any of the so-called "flamewars" around here.

At least, you just shown you don't need to learn trolling skillsPosting here because this thread is excellent and made me smile.
Also linking this thread as a "how not to moderate your own forums" example.
Seriously Michael?
I mean this with the greatest sense of respect... learn PR skills.

However: I have never ever done this before. I'm learning all day and will continue to learn till I die. But what I've already learned: I really hate the usual way of handling forums with company-represents just posting official stuff, carefully worded and sounding as stiff as a poker. I'm not like that and never will be. Taking part in the community is more fun and is more entertaining for the people around. Why taking the fun out of an industry which lives up for the fun?
Seriously, I know not everyone likes me. I'm not here for being liked by everyone.

Well, you're doing your best to be more of a community member while staying within the bounds your job defines (or sometimes sitting on the fence lol), and I for one won't complain about that, I appreciate it alot.Nightprowler made my day.

As for moderation, that's something that shouldn't even be needed if ppl could behave, so who cares how it's done as long as it's fair and called for.
I had to deal with that for a while, and I never thought it fun when I had to take action, but internet allows some ppz to act like dicks without consequences... so moderation ends up being needed.
