I havent yet seen a topic that was completely devoted to this subject. Yet for me and probably a lot of other fans this is a very important issue. From what i read the people that are making this game right now are not planning on making it turn based at all. I think that is a HUGE mistake. The special part of the previous series was the "strategy" part and the training of your characters. For me this was done in a very good way trough the turn based+ day/night system. When you decide to remove this a huge part of the game will be lost and it will just be like commandos III, but than with worse graphics.

I am well aware that you people want to make the game more realistic and more action packed, but honestly this is not the way to do it. Try putting effort in the story mode and add a realistic economy to the game trough which you can earn money. That internal fake- browser in the previous parts was so nice and i think you can do so much more with it. But PLEASEEEE dont touch the TURN BASED battle system :(((

p.s. i rest my case if i'm alone in this, but im pretty sure i am not.

p.s.2 if this topic was already adressed in a major topic i am sorry, but i couldnt find one so feel free to delete if it already exist, including a poll.

wake up and smell the coffee dude... People have effortlessly been trying to convince NabComposers into using TBS instead of childish P&G for over a year now. But instead they have chosen not to listen to the real JA fans and heading for bankruptcy ;)

We've had a similar poll earlier but... Please understand BC doesn't read any of this.

And don't think you're the only one who wants TB. We are Legion. But (BC)Bankrupt Cunts just wants a quick cash in on a popular name. They've dumbed everything down to a bloody knob.

Sorry to bring sad news to something that was a glimmer of hope. There is light at the end of the tunnel but sadly in this case it's a train coming in the opposite direction.

May the curse take them quickly!

I went for the "Maybe" option, I won't pay even 10 cents for a game that has "Jagged Alliance" written on it if it DOESN'T have turn-based combat, but allowing gamers to choose between plan&go and TBS will make the game appeal to a wider audiance I feel... I do want the Dev's to make some cash as well. I still feel that having the player choose between these two modes at the start of a new game (and not allowing it to be changed afterwords, unlike with Fallout Tactics) will also allow for increased replay value. Especially if there's skill/traits/perks specific to TBS and P&G.

Back when the brilliant Sir-Tech Canada released JA2 they did so at the height of the "all new games must use this new 3D thing!" era. That took some masive brass (you know what)!!! It would seem that BC doesn't pocess those... or do you!? :)

But to me it really is simple, if Back in Action, at the very least, offer everything that JA2 did (including TBS, Militia training, all the sectors and the feedom. etc)... then I will pre-order it as sson as I can. If it doesn't... I'll just keep playing JA2 Gold:)

If some (very)smart modder (or a smart Dev/Publisher) could just take JA2 as it is and make it run on a 3D engine... that's all I want! For now at least.

Sorry, but there won't be any turn-based mode.

We decided that it lacks of gameplay value and feels too slow overall, so we tried to bring our new Jagged Alliance more to modern-day military shooter games.

Well, you're wrong. So, there is the rotten tooth.

Quick question, Firaxis will be releasing XCOM - Enemy Unknown... a remake of the original X-COM strategy title. It would seem, from the article below, that Firaxis will be retaining X-COM's TBS comabat. Why can't BC do the same with JA?

I don´t know, the maps in JA were bigger than in the XCOM title and it fits quite well to have real time on this maps and stop by yourself if you think it´s time to give exact commands. So the game plays smoother I think.

You're answer was a bit brief so if you could expand on it please? :)
