Yes, in fact both the reflex and holographic sights now improve aiming times with the later giving the greater bonus. In practice, this makes these attachments much more useful, especially at close ranges or when you`re facing an overwhelming number of opponents and need to augment the volume of fire of your team.
So basically, the weapon optic attachments are actually working "realistically"? Out of the 4 optics available, 2 were non-magnifying and 2 were magnifying. In the firearms realm, the two first options would be recommended for CQB work such as room clearing, or use on short-range "entry" weapons such as shotguns. The latter two would be used to increase accuracy on long-range or "precision" weapons (aka sniper rifles). But the manner in which the optics were used in the game previously made me think that they were generally just "eye candy", all having the same stat effect but with varied values.
It's good to know the function of the non-mag devices after the patch, I'll start giving all entry teams and CQB specialists a spare holo signt to carry around when they swap from their primaries.
Currently I have just Meduna, the Maze, and the Palace left to take over in my game, so I don't see the point in applying the patch yet. Hopefully by the time they release their next update I'll be ready to start over again.
