Why is it that single hit damages all armor?

My merc wiht new clothing and armor got into a mele fight and to hit once. When I went to bandage him, I noticed that each cloting/armor part took a hit to durability. WUT?

How hte hell does that work?

It's economics 101:
Creating a demand that will make you take your wallet out.
Armor is there for you to spend your money...
Heck, if our enemies had to follow the same economics as us, as in paying for weapons, armor, mercs... you betcha she would have been keen on attacking and keeping the diamond mine... one squad of day 10-15 soldiers that she sends, would set her back 200k... And she sends out several each day.


Me, I'd rather fight naked and spend my money on weapons, tools, ammo, explosives(Dang I spend alot on grenades!), mercs and weaponizing/armoring militia... When doing that, I can't afford 10-20k per fight on armor alone (Thats if 2-3 mercs are hit, wich is quite often when you're zergrushed by 40 non tactical brainless AI), so I fight naked... Fox likes it that way.



Ofcourse, someone is gonna come in here and speak of "realistic"... And why you're sent in with 40k to your name to conquer a whole nation with less than a riflesquad, armed less too, and then need to order your armor in bulks of 10-100 per purchase.

For what it's worth, this doesn't happen to me. Maybe it does in melee - I never really get into hand to hand fights - but getting shot at definitely seem to only affect where you get hit. I have to change vests and uniforms all the time, helmets pretty often, leggings occasionally and almost never boots. This correlates with where I most often get hit of course. Been in lots of battles where someone's 24 point guardian armor and uniform has been shot to pieces but everything else is still in pristine condition.

take a knife and stab some clothes that u dont need any more. and look if it will penetrate

Blame game balance its simple penalty for being hit with melee .
