1/3 of the files are from Battlefield 3? In this case the copyrights for those sounds belong to Electronic Arts, DiCE and the Company which created these sounds (if there is a third party). This means you are, right now, breaching the copyright. This means they could (just in case they want to) bring an action against you for this.
Could be the same for "the rest from all over the place" actually.
Just sayin.
Please note: Check my profile for updates sometimes. Cause sometimes I update it with interesting posts. Or with informations about my holidays. Which also can be interesting if you are waiting for support.

I would HIGHLY recommend you to remove this sound-overhaul.

fair point that but seen a few mods for LFD2 that uses BF3 guns sounds smae for GTA4
speaking of copyrighted sounds i ran a comparison of the explosions in game they are exactly the same as some from DCS A10 warthog

as far as i know the blue dawn guns use the effect ids of existing guns and the fact this is a mod and not a comercial usage id more likely get a cease and desist warning before i got sued over a few sound filesDid you also do the Blue Dawn weapons? :-)

You should not have copyrighted material in your mods, besides the BF3 sounds isnt that great there is alot better gun sounds then that.
Try get gun sounds from ArmA 2 "ACE 2 mod" i dont think they are copyrighted and realistic.
i supose you are right guess ill pull it down and change out the BF3 files.
ill look at that arma mod nice tip there

I find it amazing that you can figure out where sounds in JABIA come from. Is this something you do professionally?

Interesting, now it got me wondering is there any way to load completely new sounds to game ?
If we can find where their Id's stored there is no problem to add new ones. to change old ones there is no problem there

i was think the same thing, importing some of the Mercs voice acting from JA2 like how in back in action Ira isnt an american anymore
and that Foxs new voice is way more anoying then the ja2 counterpart

hey havok can you add sounds from arma 2? cheers
You better ask the creators of the relevant sound mods for ArmA2 first and get a permission!
I know that some arma sound mods use self-recorded sounds.

just going to find sources of real weapon recordings and edit the audio myself with my editing software
have a friend that is gonna help me out with a few of the weapons he owns, gonna get some gun range recordings done for the m16,m4,mac10 and a m92f.
Edit: managaged to get hold of a barret m82a1 firing
had to scrub a few channels to get it clear but i think it sound good
attached the .wav file if anyone want to try it out in game just create a sound folder in your bin_win32 file and put it in there.
